ITH12410/SC058 has multi-target neuroprotective qualities with potential in the treatment of neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer’s ITH12410/SC058 protected SH-SY5Y cells against the loss of cell viability elicited by amyloid-B peptide and okadaic acid in several neurotoxicity models but unable to significantly protect SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells against the toxicity elicited by Ca2+ overload. Neuroprotective qualities were also observed in vitro models of oxidative stress.
