WG-449E TGF-Beta inhibitor (RGNCY-0126)

WG-449E is a potent TGF-Beta inhibitor that can down-regulate the mRNA and protein levels of collagen in hypertrophic scar-derived fibroblasts by inhibiting Smad2/3 phosphorylation. WG-449E inhibited the proliferation, migration and contraction of fibroblasts in vitro and in vivo. WG-449E also induced cell apoptosis by activating cleaved caspase3. In the mechanical load-induced mouse mode, WG-449E reduced hypertrophic scar formation and collagen deposition indicating that it is a strong candidate for the treatment of hypertrophic scars.
